Dec 12, 2010 · Re: Gooseneck hitch on a flatbed dump body I will be puting it on a straight frame f450 that has 60" cab to axle but has 12' bed on it now and I am going to make a 8 1/2 foot dump on it. I saved the bed off a old grain truck and I am shorting the frame of it and lowering it by taking the wood off and puting steel on on it.

Jan 16, 2007 · Just have your gooseneck trailer built with the proper length tongue and you'll be all set. They can build them longer. It is done with tag trailers too. Many of the 3' tongues are too short for chassis cab beds. I would not mount the gooseneck hitch behind the rear axle.

Oct 02, 2016 · Just put a trap door in the dump bed, and make or buy yourself a gooseneck hitch. Should be rather straight forward as long as the dump sides aren't to tall. And dump trailers cost near the same as what you'll pay for the dump truck, depending on the size and age of the dump truck.

Mar 23, 2011 · A guy who used to buy hay from the farm I worked at had a Uni-Ball gooseneck hitch on his 97 Ram 3500 Dump truck. He had cut the rear bed posts down and had a plate that filled the hole in the bed so he could still use it as a dump truck. I vote gooseneck over tag trailer. They load the truck better and pull much better.
